Push Pin Art

Sometimes we like to show you things that have nothing to do with knitting (but in some way they do).

I came across the following video on YouTube and it reminded me a bit of knitting fair isle. I love how the pattern builds itself row by knitted row and only at the end do you see the whole picture. First time fair islers or non-knitters don’t understand that the “knitted picture” doesn’t just appear. Much like construction of a multi-level structure, you have to start from one end and work your way up. I think that’s what makes fair isle so interesting.

The artist in the video reminds me of a fair isle knitter, only she’s using push pins. Very cool!
