Here at Be Sweet we’ve had quite a weekend!
Vogue Knitting’s first ever Vogue Knitting Live event took place in New York City from January 21st to the 23rd. Held at the Hilton right near New York’s theater district, this was a weekend to remember! Fashion shows, a market place, contests, demos, classes galore, lectures, dinners, a cocktail party and knitting EVERYWHERE!
This eagle-eyed knitter was there teaching multiple classes and I kept my eyes open for Be Sweet yarns. I saw quite a few garments using our mohair since mohair was a hot topic of discussion at the show.
There was a mohair South Africa show on Sunday with some amazing garments. At the gala dinner on Saturday evening awards were presented for the Magic of Mohair Design Competition with our very own Nadine Curtis as one of the judges. Did any of you enter, dear readers?
While we recuperate and try to catch up on the sleep we lost, we encourage you to grab some mohair and come up with some fabulous designs of your own! Don’t forget about our gallery section where you can submit photos to us of your finished garments (of any project-you don’t have to be the designer) and we’ll post them. You may even end up here on the blog like knit.n.jules above. When you submit to us we’ll send you a free PDF with one of our patterns!
